Hello everyone,

this may seem odd but I notice something that could be a leak from Apple about the possible update in the PowerBook G4 line.

I pre-order an 12" PowerBook last week and I got this info

PowerBook G4 12.1TFT/867MHz/256DDR266/40GB/Combo

Part No. M8760LL/A

Shipping 1-2 days

Today, I pre-order another one and I got a little difference

PowerBook 867MHz (12.1" TFT)

Part No. Z07B

Shipping 1-3 days

Look at the part number, ah? if you want I can send you the desktop pict I took.

And if this is not a valid info, please kill this thread.

Best,

jdl

Nothing odd there. The first PowerBook is a default configuration. The second PowerBook is a configured-to-order machine with a custom/non-applicable model number.

Who says the second order is a custom job? That's not what the original post implies. Looks like the same machine with different part numbers to me.

Try go to the Apple shop and try making a standart 12" PB and a custom job. Then everything will be clear as glass

Yeah, Anders is right. So this thread is dead.

I guess we are with our expectations a bit high about the possible PowerBook G4 updates.
