Sounds resonable.. Xcept the 200$ diffrence between the two low-end models. Doesnt sound resonable compared to the difference...
But the high-end machine is one big scoop I must say..
eMac is supposed to go 867 Mhz across the line.

No 15" LCD iMacs again. No 15" LCD displays again. The market wants 17" or larger.

They want a reasonably priced entry level iMac that isn't the eMac too.
For almost a year?
Pathetic.
No 1 gig - 1.3 gig G4? No higher bus? No DDR memory? No better graphics card at the high end? (What, no Geforce 4 Ti?) No 'T3...all chrome' special edition? No poppy red patterning? No...

As usual posters here expect too much and are disappointed. But that's OK, they're not Apple's target demoes.
DuH? Go figure. I can't...
'Over expectations.'
Guess you mean that Mac owners are used to 'reasonable' (Re: 'low' expectations...heh...)
The iMac flat has had no motherboard change/no cpu change or graphic card change in quite a while. Same for the monitor now.
I'd say at least 1 gig wasn't unreasonable! Especially if the 'power'Macs are soon to get .13 G4s! Yeesh.
What's unreasonable about 1 gig - 1.2 gig? Even that's pathetic in the grander scheme of things.
(Taking Apple as part of rest of the real world and all...)

There. (Just donning the bullet proof vest for post San Fran'...heh...)
Lemon Bon Bon
(My guesses are as good as yours, you stink bombs...come on...I'll take you all on...K-Klick...c'MON...)
((Irrational pre-san Fran jitters...))
I'm going to put my head on the chopper for an all 'new' chip. But from IBM. It'll run at 1 gig and be on a 200mhz bus with VMX.

Not saying that I said so months, ago, but....wait, I guess I am. 970 due in mid to late Feb.
I'm your concubine if that's true...

The price points seem wishful thinking (on the high end, at least.)
But talk of "1.4GHz" iMacs is pretty nutty, particularly when their PRO STUFF hasn't reached that mark yet.
If those specs/prices are true, that's one HELL of a cool iMac line-up. All you spec/number freaks can put a cork in it and go buy a G4 tower...or better yet, a tricked-out PC.
I'd be proud to own any of those listed!
That "medium" model, in particular, hits my spot: it's pretty much the machine I'd love (if I was to do this all over again, or actually be in the market for a flat-panel iMac):
It's got a faster processor, faster bus (right?), 17" widescreen, better graphics and (for me) a fast, usable Combo Drive, instead of this unused SuperDrive I've yet to truly use (except to burn tons of music and back-up CDs at a frustrating 8x).

I know about three people who would probably snap up that low-end and medium-range model ASAP...Windows/PC users, no less!
'Nutty.' Apple specs all over.
But if the 'power'Macs are dual 1 gig - 1.4 gig (for obvious x86 market condition reasons...) then why not a top end single 1.4 gig iMac? Or 1.2? But 1 gig after a year? Yawwwwwn.

The 867MHz midrange implies that they will have 133MHz busses.
