    1) Beckham's rumored homosexuality

    2) The violent spin on his corner kicks that seemingly bend the ball mid-kick right into the goal.

    Although Beckham does take corner kicks he has made a name for himself more for his unstoppable free kicks which go over the heads of the defense wall but "bend" down into the goal. Although many players before and after Beckham have also mastered this trick David has an uncanny ability to do it at crucial times in a game (usually with seconds to go in high stakes matches).



    As for the gay rumor, well I guess there is one but with the most ferocious tabloid press in the world here (UK) and the way he is ALWAYS top story in them any hint of it's truth would have "come out" a long time ago (pardon the pun).

    More people who aren't into the sport know what a corner kick is rather than a free kick. Since the noted bend is present in corner kicks as well as others, I used that in my example.



    As well, of course the rumors are just rumors.
