Does anyone have trouble with their 15in G4 iMac with regards to gaming? Like Medal of Honor Allied Assult or Diablo II they seem to run so slow and they actually impede gameplay. Is their some kind of patch or update I missed? I am running 10.2.6. Thanks.\

Check here for any updates or patches, though I'm not aware of any. The iMac has a NVidia Gforce4 MX, not a bad graphics card, but not exactly the latest and greatest either. I don't do much gaming, so I can't give you any testimonials (which is why I passed on replying at first). You might try checking the games' preferences/settings and see if disabling certain effects helps. I thought there are usually quality settings for textures, sprites, fog and whatever else in these things.

I run both MOH and RTCW without problem (see my sig for comp details). Are you referring to on-line play or single player?

On-line I had difficulties at times, but I think that had less to do with the iMac and more to do with the net.

Single-player you shouldn't encounter any problems. Do you have anything running in the background? How much memory do you have?

Also, check your game settings. Have you turned the various graphics settings to the maximum or left them at default?

I have practically the same comp as you do except I have a gig of ram. I am also running 10.2.6 the latest version of OS X. MOH is always sketchy and Diablo seems sketchy even in single player. I think I may have to reinstall the system. ANy other suggestioins before i resort to drastic measures.

I think it is the software is just poorly written.

Diablo 2 sucks on macs unless you use software rendoring(which sucks if you have a widescreen). and MOH the demo is choppy on my 1ghz imac(but RTCW plays fine)
