I'm no fan of Moon's cult, but this little protest page you've linked to is hardly a damning article because it is embedded with specious arguments. The writer's assertion that Gorbachev was truly responsible for the fall of the Soviet Union, and that Reagan's pressure was not a factor, shows an inability by the writer to understand complex political systems....I stopped reading by that part.
I believe it is important to be aware of dangerous movements. There are people who want to control the way we think. Cults can influence people's minds. Their techniques are sophisticated and even "oldest-trick-in-the-book" is probably going to have at least some effect on 10% to 25% of the population. The Battle For Your Mind "the power of
suggestion given to hundreds of people in hypnosis assures that at least 10 to 25 percent would see whatever he suggested they see."
I was approached by members of this cult. Two girls invited me to a gathering. They portrayed it as religious/charity-ish... They were really cute and coming on to me. (This was before I realized who they were). After I came back from the gathering (which was fun but it felt just slightly weird... I was getting an odd vibe from the people) I did "background check" on their organization... mainly I searched with google. I turned up lots of scary cult stuff.
...I felt sort of honored. It was like "Dude! A cult tried to get me!" It's not funnny though. I wasn't really an appropriate target for them... but a lot of lost kids are.
I ran into this article doing some unrelated research. I was [amazed, astounded, frightened, disgusted] that this cult and it's charismatic leader has so much power. They have so much influence. And they routinely brainwash people. Think mass weddings. Think Messianic delusions. Think strong ties to some of the leader of the US.
When I read all this... I thought to myself, "Why wasn't I informed?!" There are way too many things your parents don't teach you.
And that article implies two things to me:
1) Zealous-cult-wacko-lunatic-nut-people led by Rev Moon are trying to take over the world.

2) They are having decent success.
I'm just trying to give a heads up.
