San Jose, CA, July 11, 2003. Adobe Systems has announced new add-on software technology designed to maximize the performance of Adobe Photoshop 7.0 software on Apple's just-announced Power Mac G5 product line. Available free of charge, Adobe's new Photoshop plug-in technology and software enhancement can make this industry-standard application run twice as fast, when compared to Photoshop running on any previous Apple system.
"Fueled by demand for the Healing Brush, digital camera raw file support, and a host of other innovative features, Photoshop 7.0 is a must-have application for creative professionals and digital photographers," said Greg Gilley vice president, Graphics Applications Development at Adobe. "The future of Photoshop on the Macintosh platform is being geared around exploiting the power of Mac OS X and tapping the hardware performance of a new generation of G5 systems."
Adobe Photoshop 7.0, the professional image-editing standard, helps users work more efficiently, explore new creative options, and produce the highest quality images for print, the Web, and anywhere else. With Photoshop 7.0, users can craft exceptional imagery; have easy access to file data; produce faster professional-quality photo retouching; and streamline Web design processes.
The Photoshop plug-in technology and software enhancement will be made available as free downloads from Adobe's web site, when Apple ships its Power Mac G5.

They speak only of photoshop 7, that's mean the plug in is only supported by the lattest version (on purpose ? ). I doubt that they will spent any bucks to improve photoshop elements or older versions of photoshop : the goal of Adobe is to sell more, photoshop soft 7,0 updates or full versions.
