Coolest Apple "schwag" you've ever seen...
i believe that is the industry term for it. you know, the apple emblazoned promotional stuff that's given out at special events, sold at auctions, etc.
i post this thread, because i think i already have the winner...
four years ago, i was riding the subway in toronto one morning to work, and i was briefly standing next to a teenager on her way to school. then i noticed what she was using as her bookbag in her lap -- a custom haliburton steel briefcase with a beveled apple logo the size of your fist on the lid. i shit you not. it MUST have been a one-off promotional item or prize. the most ironic thing was that she had a few small powerpuff girl stickers and such on it. i bet she didn't even know why her briefcase had an apple on it. she probably got it from a friend of a friend or something.
if i had tons of money, i would have offered to buy it off her on the spot.
anyone else seen any, or actually own any?

This might not be the coolest to most, but to me it's gold: my Mom surprised me with a bunch of orange Apple pens she found and bought for me on eBay.
They're translucent, have a little white Apple logo on them. Here's a pic from redlightrunner.com:

They don't show the tangerine ones, but you get the picture.
Another friend of mine had an old, dying Wallstreet with a nicely matched form-fitting case. In fact, it was a one-of-a-kind custom job done by a friend of her mother's (the PowerBook originally belonged to her mother). He was going to put it into real production but he never got around to it, so she has the only one.
My only somewhat neat piece of schwag is an old bumper sticker... has the rainbow Apple logo and the phrase "I'd rather be driving a Macintosh." My dad got it when he sold Macs way back in the late 80s.

Any chance at all it was those standard Haliburton cases that she simply stuck on of those white logo decals that come with new Macs?
I see those stamped Apple logo briefcases or laptop cases all the time.

damn, that's IT! (minus the stickers i mentioned) so i guess it wasn't totally one-of-a-kind. still pretty cool, though (in my humble opinion)
I only have an apple ball point pen and a brass apple pin.

I once say the back window of a car that had a border made out of white Apple logo stickers. That was cool.
i wonder how many apple hardware units they had to buy to do that... wait, was that murbot's car, perhaps?
and they're still for sale in this thread
I got 2 of em

I would have posted the Aldrin pic as an image, but it's too big.
Trainworld was selling the Apple Lionel cars at a blowout like a year ago for 29.99. I go to the store since they said they had 3 or 4 left. I get there, apparently someone bought the remaining stock at both stores, Trainworld and Trainland.
the NEXT day, RedlightRunner posts them... 350 bucks each. They bought them out everywhere and then jacked the rprice up to 350.
Its an edible apple logo,
got a few up for sale if anyone wants one
Can anyone buy those?

Nah, I am a bit more subtle than that... just one sticker in the lower right corner of my rear window.
I do have almost 40 of the suckers though, all from Mac purchases.
