Maybe I'm wrong, but hasn't IDG announced attendance figures for Macworld usually the night of the last day?

Now it's almost Tuesday and we still don't have attendance figures.

My guess is they are embarrassed by the miniscule amount of people that attended.

I hope Apple is happy\

Why blame Apple? The trade show concept is dying in general. The list of exhibitors at MWSF has been declining ever since 1999. IDG's bonehead decision to go back to Boston was the last straw. No exhibitors were planning on going to Boston, with or without Apple's presence.

just out of curiosity, what's wrong with boston? i've never visited the city, but didn't macworld used to happen there? i mean, isn't this new convention center supposed to be the biggest, baddest and best in the area or something like that? considering all the national news of the messed up downtown traffic due to "the big dig," i would hope it resulted in a kickass place. is anyone on these boards from boston who can comment? or was there in the macworld heyday?

mind you, i wonder how many people flocked to the apple stores to see steve's keynote live (well, those apple stores that broadcast it)? pity there weren't shipping models ready when steve left the stage. people would've probably walked out with tons of sold units.

as it is, i bet wwdc was a test by apple to see how many people they could drive to the apple stores by web-publicized announcements. wonder if they'll ever release a tv commercial that says "come to your local apple store this saturday for an announcement that will change how you use computers forever" or something like that. 'course, make a statement like that, and you had better deliver.

obvious why the move to boston was a bad idea...

NYC is the home of most of Apple's major markets...

Design, Advertising, Music and to a degree... TV and Film.

Apple gets alot more exposure in New York...

but it is more expensive then Boston.

New York gets you more bang for your buck.
