Before Babelfish ran off screaming in terror, it had a go at translating it.



The article appears to say that the power consumption of Prescott is much higher than Intel expected and manages a not so cool 100 watts. La Intella apparently wanted it to perform at 86 watts



It also goes into some detail about how current 478 pin Intel motherboards might cope or not with the increased wattage, and also has some information about the chips projected after Prescott, that is to say Tejas and Nehalem.

    Gawd. I hope the 90nm 970 doesn't run into such problems necessitating such high wattage.

    this is of no real relevance to the thread, but i thought it might interest the non UK members here to know that John Prescott is the Deputy Prime Minister here in the UK (think equivalent to Vice President).



    He has something of a reputation for speaking none too clearly and hence the bablefish reference in the link is given a (deliberate?!) double meaning.
