Think Different Posters.... How to hang?

I have a ton of think different posters I want to hang in my room but I've never settled on a way to do it. I would never sell them but I also don't want to ruin them so I don't really want to put holes in them with thumbtacks or anything.....

My mom suggested laminating them since she has a overized laminator at her school. Do you think this would be a good strategy? And then I could put holes in just the excess laminated material around the edge?

I'd do frames but 1. expensive 2. i dont think it would look as good with frames.

Tape pieces of 8.5x10 paper to the wall and paperclip the posters to the paper. Also works to hang posters from the roof of your room. 8)

You can get those little white thumbtacks that have a larger surface area on the thumb part, stick them around the poster but not through it. That's always worked great for me.

Laminating would also be neat, big glossy posters look good. But then again, the think different posters aren't that big, so laminating might be a little much, unless you have bigger ones than the ones I've seen.

here is an example of the type of push-pin I'm talking about

I just use the plastic guides/rails that you slide onto the top and bottom edges. You slide two little knobs onto opposite side of the guides and tack those to the wall.

hmmm.... i may laminate one of my duplicates to see how it comes out.

My mom is trying to convince me that it'll look great and she won't **** up the poster but....errrr.... we'll give it a shot.

Think Different posters are sort of big.... 2 x 3 feet.... 2 by 4 feet or something. Nice sizes.

Problem is I'm hanging them on my ceiling which is pitched.... So, I'm afraid the thumbtacks along the edges or the guides won't work do to the angle.

With Big posters either frame or laminate, that's the best.

Maybe you could frame your favorites and laminate the rest...of course framing is expensive, so never mind, unless you really want to prove you are an applenut

Personally, I'd consider NOT hanging corporate advertisements in my room, but that's just me. Just because it's Apple doesn't make one any less a corporate tool.....no offense intended.

anyway, to the matter at hand, mount them on larger pieces of heavy stock or even posterboard using a removable adhesive, then mount the whole thing via the backing. They won't droop or flutter, and the backing can make a nice frame.

if they have any kind of value, frame them, if you can't afford to frame them all at once, roll and wrap the ones you don't, 'til you can have them framed.

look for someone who's reputable and does good work framing, (my favorite are those wild-life places) that uses the kind of glass that protects the poster, uses acid-free mats.

if they are worth something do this nicely and the value will increase more than what you pay in framing. if they aren't worth much....tack 'em.

I have a handful of original, mint Think Different posters. I've been slowly framing them professionally, along with some rare cycling posters as well. I do about three to five a year. They get professionally drymounted with UV protective glass and a nice frame. Ends up costing me around $100 per poster, but it's the way to do it.

Problem with laminating is that it is rather permanent. Not that drymounting isn't permanent, but I'm doing it in a rather archival way, so I'm OK with it.

Yeah, those were the things I was referring to, but I couldn't find a link to any place that sells them. I just got mine from an art supply store.
