Seems they don't like Opera too. Bill must be giving them a reach around...
<script language="Javascript">
<!--
var mac = navigator.appVersion.indexOf("Mac")>-1
var opera = navigator.userAgent.indexOf("Opera")>-1
//IE5+ required, netscape, macs, and opera are not supported
if (navigator.appName == "Netscape" || mac || opera) {
musicLink = false
window.location.href="/ierequired.htm";
} else {
//find out if its ie, then version 5+
var tmpIEVerInfo = navigator.userAgent.indexOf("MSIE ") + 5;
if(tmpIEVerInfo != -1)
{
if(parseInt(navigator.userAgent.substring(tm pIEVerInfo, tmpIEVerInfo+1)) < 5)
window.location.href="/ierequired.htm";
}
else
{
window.location.href="/ierequired.htm";
}
musicLink = true
}
//-->
</script>
I know versions of netscape and mozilla can be set to "announce" themselves as diff versions. This would be a cool feature for safari so we can get round lame companies like this.

1.) Open the Terminal:
2.) type the following: defaults write com.apple.Safari IncludeDebugMenu 1
3.) Quit Safari.
4.) Restart Safari.
5.) In the Debug menu choose: User Agent>Windows MSIE 6.
6.) Browse http://www.buymusic.com
7.) Send them an email to tell them you're browsing their site from a Mac.
8.) Take the poll in this thread.
If fact this is probably Microsoft's eventual goal for all websites: they only load if you use IE for Windows. When this happens the monopoly will be complete.
Hope somebody can actually stop them. Noone (including the feds) has had any success yet.
