I took my family to the opening. We arrived about 7:00AM so we were near the front of the line and got in with the first wave. It was a lot of fun. The first system purchase was a 12" G4 PB. This is one of the smaller stores, no theater. The outside is like the Chicago store but made of sandstone instead of white limestone. It looks good. By the opening the line stretched around the corner and down to the next block. There were all the usual questions from passers-by. "What are they giving away? Free money?" "What's the big deal? They are standing in line just to get a T-shirt?"

Local coffee shops and super markets donated coffee and donuts to those standing in line.

No G5 on display.

Still had the 15" Ti book on display. The question that was most bandied about was when will the 15" Al PB arrive? No solid answers.

The same group that opened the Walnut Creek store waited overnight to open this one. They are the Apple Store Users Group . They have a series of photos on their site.
