Powerbook 12"..

I have a huge PSD file I need to send out.

I want to use the FTP access that is built in to our charming OS.

I have an airport extreme base station and need to "Map a port"?

what port should I use? is there a better way?

flick.

dunno if there is a better way, ftp does what it says on the tin.

You will need to map both ports 20 and 21.

    Ok..

I thought I knew what I was doing..

how do I properly map these ports?

why do I need to map two?

what information do I need to send my Client?

    flick.

[edit] I should add I am looking at the Airport Base station config. and have the Mapping window open.

someone else will have to guide you from here, I do not have airport and would only be able to guess at exactly where the settings are supposed to go.

Basically, you need to map ports 20 and 21 (ftp uses 1 for the data and the other to send commands.) to your macs local address, then give your client your external IP address. The one the WAN port on the base station has.

I'll let someone else step up and confirm the exact settings tho...

I've got all that sorted out..

I assume I give them the Port number too?

    if so which one?

all I get from fetch is that running dog.. and I just keeps running poor thing.

for those that know about the air port, I'm assuming the private ip they want is the IP the Airport gives me? 10.0.1.X?

so far I think i'm doing things right.. but wrong at the same time..

    flick.
