Mail.app : Name not formatting correctly ?

I'm trying to have mail.app write my name as ...



j o h n . d o e



(with the spaces in between everything)



but when mail.app sends out the mail, it looks like .....



j o h n.d o e



instead.







is there any way to get around this? The "name" field only says to enter "full name" and not first/last name individually.





Any help is appreciated.
