2x DVD-R PowerBook firmware update

Can anyone verify if it works in 12"ers? And will it finally enable DVD-RW (if the matshita indeed does so, no one can answer this definitively)

BEFORE anyone tries this, it does not work. It will downgrade your 17" firmware, and does NOT increase burn speeds on other models.

    I can't do French, but reading at McBidouille it appears that it is the D0CB firmware, which does NOT enable 2x burning...so be careful out there if you find it.

    I think somebody there said the drive might not actually be DVD-RW capable, i'm not sure myself, but surely if the drive supported it, we'd be able to use it? Can't be that hard to write an update for.

    Firmware D0CB, eh? That's what I have here on my 12" PowerBook. The firmware that does allow DVD-RW burning is DWDB, which is the 17" PowerBook. There is no updater to the 17" firmware yet.
