What is the best keyboard??

Hi,

I posted earlier about using an external keyboard for my powerbook, now I'm wondering what is the best keyboard out there? I'm looking for a USB keyboard, hopefully with a usb hub built in, and hopefully not too expensive. I tried the apple pro keyboard the other day and they are fine, but a bit too "soft". I have a Dell PC back at my parents' house and I love typing on Dell keyboards. Just a pretty solid feel in my opinion. I'd strongly consider getting a Dell USB keyboard for my powerbook.

What is everyone's opinion about their keyboards??

I have loved my Microsoft Office keyboard from day one. Highly recommended.

    I agree with Dave K.

MS Office Keyboards are excellent and they work great with OS X.

If you like the feel of the AL12 or 17 keyboards, and you should because "They'rrrrre Ggggreat!" then I hear the IceKey from MacAlly is worth a try, it has the same scissor action keys.

Does anyone know if the new curved eMac keyboard has the same keys? There must be somebody here at AI that has one.

I always foud that the old Apple pro keyboards were a little soft and spongy. Probably good for your fingers, but in need of a touch more resistance.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that the eMac's keyboard is the same, excecpt for color, as the PM's. I haven't ever seen them side by side though.

BTW- I do have an eMac.

The only caveat is that it doesn't have a USB hub built in... so thus I'd have to use up both USB ports on my powerbook for the keyboard and the mouse that I use... a bit inconvenient for those times where I would want to print something or upload stuff from my camera.

Do you mean PowerMac? - just that there is a world of difference between any laptop and desktop keyboard.
