Need windows (!) help...RAM problems
I've got a 256 meg stick of ram that I got last Thanksgiving from Best Buy. My fiancee's got a Dell Dimension L733R or something like that. I put the ram in and it skips the BIOS screen, only showing the windows logo when it starts. The system only seems to be registering 16 megs of that 256 stick.
My question is: is the ram bad or is her PC being a pain in the ass? I'm leaning towards the latter because it doesn't seem that if the ram is bad it would boot at all or show up as 16 extra megs.
She's got one of those shared memory intel video thingys as a video driver. Could this be causing the problem? I've updated the BIOS and video drivers to the most recent available. Any troubleshooting suggestions? BTW, she's running WinME. (I know, upgrade to XP, but if I can't get more ram working it'll run piss poor.)

www.memoryx.com is a good lookup. (well for apple, ibm, sun etc).
Can also be a bios problem setting eg only pc100 or mix and match etc.
