Gif Construction Set

I am looking for a program which would animate GIFs as seen at this web site....

There is a discussion about how a webdesigner animates some of the pictures in his posts. He uses Gif Construction Set and Photoshop. As he explains, he places the GIFs in Photoshop layers and then animates them with Gif Construction Set.



Is there another(cheaper) way which would work on the Mac? (Gif Construction Set is Windows only)
