mpeg playback issues

I have a number of mpg files that play fine on my Windows PC, but in Quicktime (or any other OS X video player), only a short portion of the content can be played. Has anyone else seen this before, and is there any way to fix it?

    what codec?



    try popping open the info window once loaded

    VLC and QT will both provide some data on which codec

    (or why it failed due to lack of codec support)

    Like only the first minute? I've seen that. Try VLC.

    Yes, for viewing pr0n, I recommend mplayer.
