    Doubt it is anything! Probably just cleaning up the page!

    It feels like the servers are having problems, since all of their pages are sluggish. Of course, I could be wrong -- maybe there are going to be 970 Power Macs up in the morning -- but I doubt it .

    Internet traffic has been through the roof for the past few hours because of a new worm infecting Microsoft SQL servers.

    Apple Store is not "down". Normally if they come up with new stuff you will get a page telling you "sorry we're closed". Right now software update and apple store are just unbearably slow and partly not responding. This sounds more like network trouble or server failures than "new stuff coming".

    Or it could be precisely what I mentioned...

    Somebody was using a bunch of MS SQL servers to exploit the following vulnerability:

    <a href="http://www.kb.cert.org/vuls/id/370308"; target="_blank">http://www.kb.cert.org/vuls/id/370308</a>;

    The resulting traffic floored a lot of routers, possibly affecting your ability to get to mac.com or the Apple Store site.
