Office v.X...what has changed?
Microsoft just updated Office v.X, and they now offer three versions of their software; Office Pro, which includes Virtual PC 6.1 in addition to Office, Office standard, which seems unchanged, and Office Academic, which has a very nice price tag: under $150.
But I can not see any changes in the software for the life of me. Should I even bother upgrading?

There is no difference in these updates they are just repackagings of the same Office.
As I suspected.
Will Microsoft have to tweak everything for Panther?
As for tweaking for Panther...I don't think that will be necessary. I havn't heard of any problems in the Public Beta.

I just bought Office v.X off Amazon.com earlier this week! I think it's the Standard Edition...

That's good; as I remember, some apps were really screwed up on Jaguar that worked fine with 10.1.
