I recommend Apple's HackTV software. It's really a prototype to showcase how FireWire-camera sofware works with the QuickTime framework. It's very bare bones but it can record video to the hard drive, and you can take still pictures with it.

Otherwise.. I too really like EvoCam. Probably the best webcam software there is, period. I'm not familiar with similar software for Windows, but the jaws of all my PC-friends drop when I show them EvoCam.

That's awesome. I was just going to start a thread on this- because the iSight would make a great camera for fooling around with filming.

Here's the tutorial on how to use Quicktime Broacater with iSight It tells you how to record from iSight to your hard
and then edit it with Quicktime Pro very cheap solution
