DVD Questions

I didnt feel like buying a DVD player for college, so I just decided that I would use the cable that came with my pb 12" to hook it into the TV and just play all my DVD's from my mac. That worked out fine, now I have a few questions.

How can I turn off the screen on the mac, while still letting the DVD play on the TV?

The sound only comes out of the speakers on the mac, do I need another cable to hook up to the TV to use the TV's built in speakers instead of my macs?

Thanks in advance to any posts

you will need another cable for audio. just connect it to your headphone-out connector.

I'm not sure but I don't think you can turn of the screen and just watch TV. You could try to close your powerbook for a few seconds during startup while it is connected to your TV. This works with VGA-monitors.

Turn the brightness all the way down?

Close it with a USB mouse plugged in (and use the mouse as a wired remote control) ?

You need an 3.5mm (stereo) headphone jack to RCA plug cable. It should have a headphone jack on one end and red/white plugs on the other. Should be available (really) cheaply from an A/V store.
