OSX and a really long shut down time
Howdy all,
I don't think this is normal, but I may be wrong. I have a Powerbook 667 with 768 megs ram running OSX 10.2.5.
The thing takes forever and a day to shut down.
I don't shut it down most of the time now, because it takes so long, but when I do the hard drive is spinning and spinning. Apps seem to hang. I end up having to force quite Adobe acrobat or Word sometimes. And then I get a blude screen, the little spinning graphic normally about a minute and a half, but sometimes up to 5 minutes.
It seems to me it is clearing stuf out ov virtual memory or something, but I'm not sure.
Sometimes I miss OS 9. Shut it downd and BAM! Apps close. And then off!
Is this something I just have to live with, or is there something that I could be doing.
Do I need Norton & to optimize my HD in OSX?
Rebuilding permissions?
thanks for any help.

OS X: Faster boot times, but now the shutdown takes 5 minutes. Think Different.
Sorry, I can't help you, the only problems with speed that I've had is boot time...
