Hello everyone, I'm a long time mac user and have been hanging around this site for a few years but have only posted a couple of times. Anyway, I finally joined the the modern era of computing. I recently replaced my old B&W G3 with OS9 and monster Mit 22 inch crt monitor with a sleek and sexy 17 powerbook with OS 10 and airport. Gone are all the wires, stacks of hardware, and clutter. Man, this is so COOL!

LONG LIVE APPLE

    Rebelram,

Congrats on the upgrade!! You have to be psyched!!

I have a question for you, as well as anyone else with a laptop.

Do you actually take your computer places with you, or does it usually just sit on your desktop?

Just curious, because I know a few people thatalmost never take their laptop anywhere.

My 15" TiBook goes EVERYWHERE with me. I almost never leave home without it. Then again, I am in college, so of course it would go everywhere with me.

I have only had it for a couple of weeks but I find myself taking it to work regularly. I am sure to take it on trips and vacations.

    15" TiBook here.

I take it with me every single time I leave the house. I don't necessarily NEED to, but it's a good way to prevent potential theft. It's a nice luxury to have...

Can't wait to get my G5 and 17" PB too.

I use mine (17" PB) for work and play. I bought it for myself but I have worked it into my "work life" as my everyday computer (and everyone at work drools over it

So it goes back and forth between work and home everyday, and I take it on any trip that I go on. Of course, I do leave it at home if I'm just going out for dinner or to a movie, so I'm not too far over the edge

I have an iBook SE (clamshell) that has been all over the world ... it's probly spent more time in hotels than in my house.

The thing is indestructible... I just throw it in my suitcase and go.

Let me guess, those Dell 'luggables'? My friend's Dell's don't go anywhere either. Who wants to tug around 10lbs of Dell?

iBook goes everywhere with me, when it isn't in the shop that is. It goes to class, war driving/walking, friends houses, between university and 'back home'.
