MacResQ PBG4 Superdrive upgrade
Just wanted you guys to know that I just upgraded my PBG4 800 with a MacResQ Superdrive. You get the basic drive for $300 (just over £200 for me in the UK), If you have an intermediate level of engineering skills then the install will be easy, you'll need a few Torx drivers, a small flathead and a watchmakers phillips driver too. Take your time and you'll be ok. As far as I can tell it's exactly the same drive as the Apple original and it appears to be completely compatible with all apps including iDVD, DSP 1.52, Toast etc. I haven't tried that new superdrive firmware upgrade yet but I probably will at some point.
Anyway, just wanted to let you know that I think it's well worth it, much better than an external drive for me.
Questions or comments welcome.
