iPod not charging when docked

I've got a 15GB iPod. After spending the last week on the dock, I took it for a walk today, and after a handful of songs, the battery died. I took it home and fully recharged it with the AC adapter, but shouldn't it have been fully charged? I'd noticed that during the previous week, it said "charging" - rather than "charged." Am I doing something wrong, or is it simply not charging while docked?



Also, I've noticed that from straight on, the battery meter on the screen always looks full - but if I angle it, I see the actual reading. Anybody else get this?

    If you have any warrenty left, call Apple. I've never heard of that happening.
