Update to Mac OS 9.2.1...time remaining ..1/2hour...1hour...2hours!!! and increasing!

hey.



i'm updating a pismo partition from 9.1 to 9.2.1.



i start the installer and the progress bar pops up.



first it says:



Estimated Time Remaining: 6 minutes

then it's 7 minutes, then 12, 15, 24, 30,

then 1 hour !

now it says 2 hours and even though the little clock is spinning - the progress bar isn't even half way across.



it's been like 2 hours already and it still says "Updating Apple hard disk drivers".



WTF?

    dunno, but i'd leave it alone. let it run all night if you have to. nothing is worse than interrupting a computer while installing an OS, on either platform.

    i can't tell you how frustrated i am.



    this frickin thing is still at exactly the same point it was hours ago.



    i have to update this OS so i can test a disk from a the middle of a 34GIG retrospect backup that seems to be phucking up on the another machine.



    so both machines are paralyzed and i want to frickin scream.



    it's been like this for a week.



    i had a huge backup destroyed by the blackout and one before that was screwed up too.
