I'm trying to create a network with my woman's computer so we can transfer files.

Me, airport card os10.6

She, ethernet os9.2

between us, an airport extreme base station

I know this shouldn't be hard, but all I'm good at with computers is drawing pictures.

please send help

On the Mac OS 9 Mac:
    • Turn Appletalk on (using the Appletalk Control Panel) and set the network interface to "Ethernet". (There might be quite a few options depending on the Mac).

    • Turn on file sharing. I don't have Mac OS 9, but there should be a control panel with "sharing" in the name.

    • To share a folder/disk, get info on it (command + I) and select sharing.

    • To set the users allowed to connect to the OS 9 Mac, there should be a Users and Groups control panel

    On Mac OS X:
    • Go to System Preferences and click on Networks. The "show" menu in the middle of the page tells you which network interface you're configuring, so you want to choose "Airport". Click on the Appletalk tab, then make Appletalk active.

    • Use Accounts in System Preferences to add more users
