Strange Behavior with Apple.com

I have win2k at work, with ie 6 or something, but I don't suspect the pc to be the cause of this problem. Often, recently (since maybe a week or two ago), random links to (even from) Apple's site (apple.com) redirect me to their store. Sometimes, re-entering the link will work. I tossed it up to bad links, and apple maybe using a creative-marketing type 404 page, but i just got it to happen on http://www.apple.com, and that shouldn't ever 404. Is anyone else noticing this? I find it really strange. Maybe its a subconscious thing, my mind pushing me to place my order (before my bank account is ready). i'm scared.

Apple uses Akamai servers, and who knows, maybe their servers are serving up apple.com in weird ways. Does anyone know if Akamai is a Wintel shop? Maybe they got hit with these M$ virii flying around the Internet?

Isn't there a website that will tell you the platform/web server software of web servers? I've forgotten where it is. I'd be surprised if Akami used Windows/Internet Information Services, as Apple use Akami and I wouldn't expect the (recent RPC exploit) virus to have such an effect on a web server or even a browser.

Apple uses "Apache/1.3.27 (Darwin) PHP/4.3.1" on Mac OS X as of yesterday:

www.apple.com has been working fine for me for ages. It sounds like it must be a problem on your end.
