Selling ideas to companies

Lets say I'm a complete genius (hard to imagine eh?) and I have like 5 insanely great ideas that I would love to see become reality. Most of them I don't have the resources to carry out as they would be an enhancement or add-on to an existing product (the other ones I'm too lazy..) Anywho, is there a standard method of going about contacting a company and/or meeting with them to talk about how amazing my ideas are, without having to worry about seeing them surface in a year or so without any recognition that it was my idea?

If you can put them down on paper, try filing a patent. helps if you have drawings as well.

Seems everyone is doing it. Apple patented the Trash Can.

Yeah, get a patent attorney and start the filing process...Patents aren't cheap though, and approval takes forever.

Look into either: patents, trademarking or servicemarking your ideas (depending on their context / targets).
