Exporting mailboxes in Mail

I have to backup all my important files onto CD this weekend since I'm passing down my TiBook to my sister and will have to wait who knows how long for a low-end G5 to make its way up to Canada to replace it. One thing which I'm not sure if I can do is export my mailboxes in Mail (under 10.2.6). I need all of my incoming mail and sent mail to make its way to my new machine. I feel like I'm missing something obvious, but I don't see any export option (though I do see an import one). If I can't do that, where are the actual mailbox files and, if I copy them to CD, can I then open them on my new machine?

Ok, so I see all of the mailbox files. Once I have them on CD I chose "import" from within Mail, right? And for that matter, can also copy over my current Mail prefs? Which "plist" file are they saved under?
