OS X mbufs

Sometimes our XServe's network stack gets overloaded and then the box will drop off the network for a short time. On a normal Linux / BSD installation we could alter kernel flags or recompile the kernel to allocate more mbuf buffers, but for OS X Server (or OS X in general) I don't think we can do that.

Anyone know how we can bump up this kernel setting?

    sysctl is your friend.

'sysctl net' gives you an insane number of network settings to inspect and perhaps fiddle with.
