Adjusting to 3rd Gen iPod interface
Well I finally got a chance to see and play around with the latest crop of iPods. I love it's sleeker form, rounded edges, and lighter weight, which is a big plus for my long run workouts. It also seems more rugged than my original 5 gigger.
However, while the solid state scroll wheel was great, I couldn't get past the new button layout. It just doesn't seem as intuitive as the original. Anyone else finding it somewhat awkward reaching for the row of buttons?
It may have to do with conditioning since I'm so accustomed to the first gen buttons that go around the wheel.
It's too bad they Apple didn't introduce the solid state buttons but keep the same layout. That would be the ultimate form factor.

congrats on the new iPod though - they're lovely
I ordered a 10GB model and it came in today!! (USPS Express Mail delivers on Sundays, too.) I can't tell you; this is one of the first Apple products in a while to elicit a true glee from myself --- first of all being surprised that it ACTUALLY came today and second being the charm of just actually having and holding one. The packaging is, like Apple, truly special, and I couldn't get over how small it is in real life. WOW.
Beautiful work, Apple. Tremendous! Now, to decide if I want to turn of the "clicker" or not (prolly will).
