Changing Mozilla mail directories

I'd like to save my Mozilla mail to an external drive. Instead of /Users/.... how do I set it to go to an external drive, named Overhere in a folder named thisfolder. Can I just write /Overhear/thisfolder in the preferences or does Mozilla even allow you to save your messages to a disk other than the internal one. Please help before I screw things up
