I first read about this today.

Anybody think this is a better way to go than VPC or FWB?

Are there other cards like this available for the mac?

FWIW, I emailed sun asking them if there are future plans to have a card like this made for the mac. And I think Apple probably sells more computers than sun sells so maybe it'd be beneficial for sun to have a mac version.

for that price you could build a pc that far and away exceeds the spec of the coprocessor card and it doesnt come with the windows lisence

Thats not really the point now is it? For that price does that come with a high end sun work station to? No I didnt think so.

The people using these have no need for a custom built POS or they would not be using a high end sun workstation in the first place.

    Take your flaimbate elseware.

I liked the cards that apple made. PC compatiblilty card. But they were really slow. 95 was the max that could be put on. You could put 98 on but it was bloody slow.
