iPod vs. iRiver HP-100?
I'm thinking about picking up one of these players and am having a tough time deciding between the two. Either the 15Gb iPod or the 10Gb iRiver, both are $399.
Here's a link to the iRiver: http://www.iriveramerica.com/products/iHP-100.asp
And a review of the player: http://gear.ign.com/articles/435/435472p1.html
Here's how I see the breakdown of positives:
iPod
Larger Hard Drive
Sleaker, smaller case design
Just looks cooler
iRiver
Digital Audio In/Out (for connection to Home Theater)
Direct MP3 encoding (connect CD player directly to the player and rip away)
FM tuner
The iPod might be easier to use and would include the games and calender but the iRiver seems to have better battery life and sound quality. I use a Win2000 laptop, so any special Apple only functionality doesn't add much for me. Though I may get a 15" Powerbook if they ever come out.
Any thoughts?
