Changing File Sharing Password in OS 9

How is that done? I'm trying to network a friends powerbook and his older 266 MHz G3 and they only seem to seem each other when theyre both in OS 9. The only problem is that the password doesnt seem to want to be accepted. Any and all help would appreciated.
