I've had this mouse for about a year and it worked fine but now in the last couple months when the computer goes to sleep the mouse also goes to sleep, but when I wake up the computer the mouse doesn't wake up. I've tried installing the drivers and everything but nothing seems to work. Anyone have any suggestions?

I have had two Microsoft mice in the past. One was an IntelliMouse Explorer and the other was an IntelliMouse Optical. The Explorer would have this problem where it would only work on my Mac if I jiggled the USB cable around and plugged and unplugged it many times in a row. It obviously was a hardware-software integration problem as it always worked perfectly on my PC. The IntelliMouse Optical has always behaved itself well so I kept it and got rid of the Explorer when I sold my PC.

I guess you could try unplugging it before sleeping?

Sorry I did forget to mention that it does work after i unplug it and plug it back in but that is what was getting annoying.

Hmm... well, another workaround would be to buy a USB hub that you can turn on and off with a switch, and plug the mouse into that. Before you sleep your computer, just switch off the hub. But it seems silly to buy a USB hub for just that. Sorry I can't help any more.

I had a similar problem with a Logitec optical mouse after installing the usb driver for my isdn modem. Did you install any new usb drivers?

The MS Optical Mouse Blue I use now never had this problem (btw being the only MS product I ever liked )
