Metal Finder In Jag...Hard To Do?

Posted:
in macOS edited January 2014
I like the metal look..i know there are those that hate it...but i like it and would like to have my jag finder in metal till panther is out...i have done it with mail app and other apps...but i'm not sure where to look to find the right .nib files....i know one is main.nib but does that do the finder windows also? And is there someway to do the menu bar at the top metal? is there a file i can edit. I don't like themes as they stuff around too much with the system where this is built right in the OS and works.

Has anyone done this before? or is it risky?

Finder has no .nibs for its main windows so the only way is to use themes.

Finder is currently built with MetroWerks PowerPlant, a crossplatform GUI library that is as overelaborated as its host language (C++). It's still in transit from OS 9, basically, so MW is currently more interested in just getting it to run well than they are in supporting things like nib files. (CodeWarrior can be used with Interface Builder, but IB can't be used with PowerPlant's GUI classes).
