Search Engines and flash

i haven't seen much of a discussion on this topic for a while so i thought i'd toss it back out to all the other web guys to see what you think. what seems to be the best solution(s) out there currently to get one's flash content indexed by all the different web engines? meta and comment tags seem to be largely ignored by most engines anymore, so where does that leave us? no frames tag? z-index and css trickery? what works and won't get you penalized by the man? your thoughts?

    i think the best way is to create a no flash version of the site - sux i know.

    then you run into the problem of having the search engines linking back to the non flash version. not to mention the added cost of developing two versions. with many of the projects that i have done, this is just not an option.
