Apple and Bose

Looking at the new iPod pages at Apple.com, I saw all the elegant white-ness and elegant accessories and thought, what an opportunity to make a "new kind of mini-stereo system." The iPod, the dock and Bose microspeakers.

I don't really have much experience with Bose speakers and they are the unwashed masses version high-end, but I think the white, simple aesthetic are the same. Much like iPods and VW's. It would be great to get iPods in the upscale Bose stores and the solutions themselves are pretty compelling with size and quality being pushed to the limit by both companies.

Here's to another corporate partnership between Apple and other industry leaders!

be careful what you wish for...

apple actually DID partner with bose exclusively for the speaker and subwoofer combo for the 20th anniversary mac, and aside from the staggering price tag, became the achilles heel of the system, because TONS of those speakers were sent back to apple for repair or replacement.

then again, it's been like 5-6 years since then, so maybe they could give it another go. just thought i'd use that lil' bit of useless trivia for something other than taking up space in my brain.

Yeah, Harman may have a contract that would preclude other partnerships, but the fact is that the iPod dock already works with any normal speakers now. Just like an iPod works in any car, not just a VW. It would just be a marketing piece and would not make Apple responsible for Bose equipment.

There was a story a month ago that said iPods would be available at Bose stores.

I can't wait to get my iPod with my NEW PowerBook...rip all my cd's at 320kbps AAC and play them with my new AWESOME head phones.

MDR-V600...not THE best but pretty good I think...something like 7hz-30,000.

...oh yeah relating to this post...bose isn't bad, especially for the mass market, I mean there are maybe 10% real audiophiles in the proclaimed. Would be cool/cute for a little add-on kit for the iPod + Dock. Just plug these speakers into the out and you have a full functioning stereo!

Oh yeah...I don't expect or want Apple to do this though, basically pointless and not a big seller.
