I'm running virtual pc 5.0 with windows xp and I'm wondering if this would leave me vulnerable to worms that xp computers are suseptable to. If I would someone how get a worm I would lose my internet at school until I can prove that it has been disinfected which could be weeks so I need to be sure I'm immune.

Just patch that thing using the "Windows Update" feature (may mean suing multiple times after multiple reboots -- don't ask, it's Windows ...). Using VPC means just your hardware is virtual, but the software is the real crap that comes with the real problems!
