Custom Icon Help (Jaguar)

I wanted to change my iPhoto to have a picture of my own Digital Camera in from of the palm tree instead of that grey one.

I took the image into photoshop with a transparant background, dropped my new camera on top of the grey one and saved the sucker. (no background).

Then I did a 'magic lasso' to grab ONLY the icon (none of the null space) and told it to copy. Then I choose paste on the folder and SHAZAM, I have a white background....

Perhaps this is explained somewhere but I am clueless. Please somebody lend me a hand.

I have tried xicons.com but nobody answers my post there. How would I get something into the dock w/o the white background?

I hate when that happens. Try saving it as a transparent png and opening it in Preview then doing a copy/paste.

You should probably use iconcomposer, free for download on developer.apple.com. Export the images at 16, 32, 48, and 128 sizes, export it, and then browse iPhoto's package contents. Find the iPhoto icon file (probably called iPhoto.icns or icon.icns). Take your custom icon, rename it the same name as the stock iPhoto icon, and replace the iphoto icon with your new file. Log out or restart to see the changes.
