How's everyones' local Apple store doing? Every time I go past/in the one on Michigan avenue in Chicago it's packed. I'd say 75% of the computers have someone messing around with them. The theater up stairs is maybe 25% filled well maybe 10% filled. Which I think is good.

In the new Burlingame store, it's packed on weekends...to the point where you feel very cramped in the store. The Palo Alto store has a healthy amount of foot traffic too, but not as much as the Burlingame store, it seems.

Atlanta is pretty good. Though seeing people check out is rarer then hanging out.

there was an article in mother tribune before the michigan avenue store opened, saying because of real estate prices and high rents it's next to impossible to break on a "magnificent mile" location, a rep from apple acknowledged that fact and said that apple is on michigan avenue for the exposure and cache that having a store there entails.

i think in the five or six times i've visited the least crowded the store was at the grand opening! (they were limiting how many people could come in at one time)

in fact i was there one evening, buying a blutooth adaptor and they did 80 grand in the 15 minutes i waited in line, it was amazing!

I'd agree. The one time I went recently during the week on a Friday afternoon, though, there were a few people buying stuff. I think things move pretty swiftly in that store. (But the GB guys could use a little more training, I think)

Columbus always seems to have a steady stream of traffic, albeit not filled to the brim with customers. One good sign is that every time I've been in there (about once every week or 2) there has always been someone buying MULTIPLE machines. The last time I was there for about a half hour and two separate people bought 2 and 3 iMacs respectively.

Yeah- I been to a few stores...I go to school at Michigan State- so its a rather central location.

I've been to the 2 in detroit. The one in Novi never seems very busy- but the one at the Sommer Set Mall in Troy always seems to be hoppin'

I've also been to the one in the Woodfield Mall in the chicago area- it was pretty busy...also the Michigan Ave. store is soooooo cool- it was packed when I was there- and the internet cafe is such a good idea! They had 17" iMacs with iSights on all of them! How cool is that?

I have a few pics on my web site

The Emeryville and Walnut Creek stores always have people in them, though I never see people at the theater. I suppose you can only watch the Power Mac G5 commercial so many times. I've never been there when they are having one of their workshops though.

Also, the music section is always packed. 4 or 5 people are always playing with iPods or the Creature speaks. Ok, so 4 or 5 isn't a lot, but its a small store.

There's always alot of people playing on the Macs. But, very few are queuing up for the cashier.
