Fantom drive reliability

Bought a Fantom titanium firewire drive a few weeks back because the guy at the store said they've never had problems with them, whereas LaCie's were being returned. Guess what? My Fantom is dead after 3 weeks. Are they known for reliability or suckiness? TIA
