hey, I just wanted to hear what people think about the nonlinear editing program media 100. This is what my college uses to do all of their editing. They have pc and mac (not os x). I haven't really worked with it yet, so I was just wanting to hear some opinions.

thanx

IMO, they should upgrade to osx and get final cut express, or even pro.

Media 100's 844/x system sounds intriguing, but their standard Media 100i software... in my opinion it leaves a bit to be desired. It's only recently been getting some features that it should have had a long time ago.

Media 100 was great for post production houses. I could build an After Effects composite, dump it into Media 100 and output directly to Betacam SP. Perfect when you didn't have an expensive DDR.

I was never really a fan of cutting on a Media 100 though, but I know a lot of schools bought into it. I've always been partial to Avids, but that is what I learned to cut on

    Media 100: I don't hate it.
