wow, better, longer lasting than Li-ion batts? No considerable waste? Not toxic to the community? Expells water that maybe stored in the refillable methanol cartridge?
sounds like a plan, especially with commercial possibilities offered next year ! Apple could just design a similiar sized battery that would fit every portable !!
The centrino is good, but it's not super. Give a 130nm G4 a decent bus and it should kill the centrino. Remember, the Centrino is generally slower than the p4-M when under wall power. A 1.6 Ghz G3 with 1MB L2 cache would almost certainly beat the centrino. (the big question is: if it were built, how much less power would it draw. . .)
An advanced G4 along with a battery that not smaller than the last generation's would do the trick fine. The big display on the 15 and 17 inchers doesn't help the cause either.
On the battery front, there are some guys at Berkley working on getting tiny wankel engines to produce power in battery form-factors. Rotary powered macs!
