eMac spits out DVD discs

I just got a brand new combo drive eMac 1 Ghz model and it won't play DVD dicscs.



When I insert a DVD disc into the eMac, moments later the eMac will just spit it right back out without any displaying any kind of error or even a sign that it acknowledged that there was ever even a disc inserted.



Any suggestions?

    Has it ever worked with a DVD? First thing, go under the apple menu to About This Mac, hit the More Info... button and verify the Device is a combo drive (just in case).



    Next, you may want to get a cleaner disc to make sure that all is okay.

    I've verified in the about this mac that I have a combo drive and I've run a cleaner disc a number of times.
