Getting ripped off online
I got burned on a CD purchase from an Amazon marketplace seller recently and I realized today that, in four or five years of buying stuff online, it was the first time I've been ripped off.
What struck me is how pissed I became at Amazon for facilitating this guy taking my money. I have been buying from them for years, and will most likely be looking to B&N or other sources for future online purchases before I'll go to Amazon. If I'd gotten burned on an eBay purchase of a CD or record I'd probably have just passed it off as a bad eBay experience, because I've heard about so many of them. Same would have applied if it were some small operation I had never heard of before. But for some reason I trusted any transaction that went through Amazon...and now I don't trust them anymore
So, anybody have any horror stories to relate? Do you still buy stuff online?
